      How Does Arpio's Automated Failback Work for Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS)?

      Details on how to failback your Amazon RDS database with Arpio

      Arpio supports automated Failback for all Amazon RDS Instances and Clusters.

      Failback is an Arpio Enterprise feature that allows you to quickly and easily copy the most recent data from your recovery environment back to your primary environment in the event of a failover.

      Because Amazon RDS Instances and Clusters have unique names, Arpio does the following steps in your primary environment:

      1. Rename your primary instance or cluster.
      2. Create a new instance or cluster with the latest data copied from your recovery environment.
      3. Delete the original instance or cluster that was renamed in step 1. AWS automatically takes a snapshot when deleting instances or clusters.
